Meet Our Team
Mariano Montes de Oca
Director and Founder
Mariano Montes de Oca obtained a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of California Santa Cruz. Shortly after that, he worked for FriendFinder network in Palo Alto, California, where he was a site manager for amigos.com and germanfriendfinder.com. Next, he worked in education, where he taught high school mathematics, including A.P. courses and engineering. Mariano is the founder of M.D.I., a differentiated instruction model based on MAP scores. See more at: www.mapdirectedinstruction.com.
As Director Mariano oversees all projects in the stages of Development, Design, Q.A., and Optimization, as well as Customer and Corporate Training.

Katy Montes de Oca
Creative Director
Katy Montes de Oca studied Photography at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco after retiring from a successful career in tourism, in which she worked for Tauck Tours for over eight years. As Creative Director at PV Pulse Media, Katy ensures that the site maintains a high level of aesthetics by bridging design specifications, customer's vision, and business profile with overall site composition.

Keph Senett
Communications Strategist
Keph Senett is from Toronto, Canada. She graduated with a BA in 1999 and went on to study web design and writing, earning a Journalism Certificate in 2008. An avid blogger with an interest in travel, soccer, social innovation and development issues, Keph went to South Africa in 2009 where she volunteered with various local organizations and wrote about her experiences. When the opportunity to live in Puerto Vallarta and work as part of the PV Pulse team presented itself, she jumped at the chance.

Amanda Karns
Design and Content Specialist
Amanda Karns is also from Pennsylvania, and loves exploring the world with
Shelby. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors from Edinboro University of
Pennsylvania and has a degree in Applied Media Arts with a concentration in Graphic
Design and a PA K-12 Art Education Certification. She’s worked for over seven years as
a freelance designer, providing solutions for logos, corporate identity and branding, and
various print and online projects. Her current obsession outside of the office is making
sea glass jewelry and screen-printing, but she wants to know everything about everything,
so that’s subject to change.

Cecil Gupta
Dedicated Web Developer
The most important thing Cecil taught himself was to learn. When he discovered he could do that pretty well on his own he quit school and became a full-time programmer/web developer. He is found mostly attached to a laptop in his office. Occassionally when he is successful in severing himself from it he goes to his farm and watches his mango trees grow.
